In short: this website uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising or social media trackers. I only use your personal data to answer your questions and to work together.

2. Which data I process and why

Visiting this website

When you visit this website, the server of my hosting provider automatically records technical data, such as your IP address, the date and time of your visit, the page you requested and your browser type (server logs).

This is necessary to show you the website and to keep it secure. The legal basis is my legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). I do not use these logs to identify you or to build a profile. The hosting provider keeps them for a limited period and then deletes them.

When you contact me

When you send me an email or call me, I process your name, your contact details and the content of your message. If we work together, I also process the business details needed for quotes and invoices.

I use this data to answer your question, to prepare a quote and to carry out the project. The legal basis is taking steps before a contract and performing that contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and my legal obligations for invoices and bookkeeping (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).

I keep correspondence as long as needed for your request or our project. Invoices and accounting documents are kept as long as Belgian accounting and tax law requires.

3. Who receives your data?

I never sell your data or share it for marketing. Only these service providers process data on my behalf, under my instructions:

• Easyhost: hosting of this website (server logs).
• Combell: hosting of my email.
• My accountant, for invoices and bookkeeping when we work together.

Your data is not transferred outside the European Union.

4. Cookies and local storage

This website does not use cookies. There are no analytics, advertising or social media trackers, and fonts and videos are served from this website itself, not by Google, YouTube or other third parties.

Your browser only remembers two settings, and only after you choose them yourself:

• language: your language choice (English or Dutch), set when you use the language switch or close the “also available in Dutch” bar, so you land in your language next time.
• background-videos: whether you paused the background videos.

These settings are stored in your browser (local storage), are never sent to me or anyone else, and you can delete them at any time by clearing the site data in your browser. Because they are only used for a function you ask for yourself, no consent banner is needed.

5. Links to other websites

The links to LinkedIn and Instagram take you to those platforms. Their own privacy policies apply there. This website does not load anything from them.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Send your request to info@deandecoster.com. I will answer within one month.

If you believe your data is not handled correctly, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.

7. Changes

If the way I handle personal data changes, for example when a new service is added to this website, I will update this page. The date at the top shows the latest version.
